Summer Track The Treasure Valley Family YMCA's Youth Track Club "Team Idaho" has been serving the youth of Boise and the Treasure Valley for over 30 years. As with the core mission of the YMCA, the club's goal is to help develop youth, not only in track and field, but build character values as well. All abilities are welcome, from beginner to elite! We encourage kids and adults to make track and field a fun way to stay healthy and fit. Your child or athlete chooses their event, and is coached by the YMCA's great staff, along with local high school track coaches and athletes. This feel-good program will give your child the confidence to try several different events, and find where their strengths lie. You will find a number of locations and schedules listed below that you can take advantage of for your athlete's training. We encourage kids to make track and field a fun way to stay healthy and fit. As another benefit, Bandanna Running and Walking will give all Team Idaho Athletes a 10% off any purchases made in their store. Just one more benefit of being a member of Team Idaho.
Initial Meeting Parents and kids who are registered, or are interested in registering for Team Idaho are encouraged to attend one of the following orientation meetings: May 24, 6:00 p.m. for Boise District (to be held at Boise High track bleachers) May 24, 6:00 p.m. for Meridian District (to be held at Mountain View High track bleachers) May 24, 6:00 p.m. for Nampa/Caldwell District (to be held at NNU track) May 24, 6:00 p.m. for Eagle Area (to be held at Rocky Mountain High track) Practice Guidelines Register your child for the practice time that allows him or her to attend on a regular basis. Participants age 13 and older may attend as many practices as they like. Younger participants may attend up to two practices per week, unless obtaining the program Director's approval. All-Comers Track Meets The YMCA All-Comers Meets are held weekly on Thursday evenings at 5:30 p.m at Timberline High School. These meets are open to all ages and abilities. As club members and coaches say "come out and play track and field on Thursdays". All events including field events and running events will be available. Certified USA Track & Field Officials will be on hand for the serious competitor, but these meets are very relaxed and fun. All events are scheduled by age groups. The age group you participate in is determined by your age as of 12/31/2010. Age Groups: 10 and under, 11-12, 13-14, 15-16, 17-18, 19-39,40-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79 and 80+ Cost: $1.00 per event (Members) | $2.00 per event (Non-members) Schedule of Events: View All-Comers Meet Schedule All meets are held at Timberline High School and start at 5:30 p.m on the following Thursdays:
